Hi all. First I want to introduce myself. I'm me, and I'm from Indianapolis, IN. I live in a small apartment, chase storms, and eat hot food. I have a degree in music composition, and work as a web/database programmer/tech support guy for a small advertising agency. I've been kinda lurking on the list for about 5 days, and it seems like a fun group. >As for the cranberries, I'll be playing with those for the first time this >year. I've always watched Mom combine them with orange pieces and a lot of >sugar in a very heavy pot, and cook it down. I'll try something similar, >but as I'mm cooking for the family I can't make the main batch hot. I'll >split out my own portion for that. So now I'm wondering, wondering, of all >the pepper heat variations I know, which would go best with that >cranberry/citrus base. I can imagine some good candidates, like a smoky >chipotle or maybe a clean-burning aji limon. I've never liked cranberry anything, especially cranberry sauce. But, I like habaneros with citrusy/fruity sorts of things. Mangos and habaneros work well together. And, perhaps a little smoky flavor might make cranberries taste batter, so your chipotle idea might be a good one. Maybe both habaneros and chipotles... And, finally, has anyone tried gowing peppers indoors, hydropoinically, on a small scale, and with artificial light?
