Mary's working late so I made a sandwich. Turned out ok. Think I'd add some Calvin's next time. The last pasillas I got were much hotter. This is nominally low-fat, since avocados don't count. Got the calamari and bread from Trader Joes--the garlic/cheddar is only 1.5 gms per big slice. I used fairly thin. If TJ's bread wasn't available think I'd throw a few cloves of garlic in the broiler with the chile. The real trick for tender calamari is to cook it fast-absolutely no more than 3 min total. * Exported from MasterCook * Chile Calamari Sandwich Recipe By :Riley Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:15 Categories : Chiles Lowfat Seafood Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 slices roasted garlic cheddar cheese bread -- lightly toasted 1 each calamari steak about same size as bread -- If frozen, thaw in lightly salted water with maybe some Calvin's powder. 1/4 each avocado -- peeled and sliced 1 each pasilla chile -- roasted, stemmed and seeded 1/4 cup white wine (Pinot Grigio) 1 teaspoon Pecorino Romano cheese -- grated 3 sprays Tastes So Good Itsa Gotta be Butter Spray -- to taste Roast the chile, peel, stem and seed.
