Item #1: I have an unopened bottle of Dave's Reserve. Unfortunately, I once knew someone who had an open bottle and I tasted it. Hot is an understatement. @#$%&!@ HOT! is also an understatement. The third understatement would be disgusting. I did not like it at all by itself, but I can see where it might have merit in cooking. Item #2: I also have an unopened bottle of a hot sauce that I am not sure what it is. It is a 5-oz. clear liquor bottle with no label and a stuffed voodoo doll around the neck. I know a few things about it: 1. It was made by a company in Portsmouth, VA which is now out of business. I had another one of their sauces once (good) but forget the name. 2. I was told by the owner of a hot sauce store in Temecula, CA (forget his name, talked to him for about 2 hours one day, tasting sauces the whole time) that he would pay me $50 for a bottle if I could find one (said they were collectors' items and he could sell them for much more). 3. I bought a bottle for $15 off of a guy at the Orange County Swap Meet in Costa Mesa, CA with the idea that I would either eat it or give it to the other fellow. Well, here I am in Atlanta now, and I still have this bottle. What is it? Is it tasty? Is it hot? Should I eat or save? It looks delicious and seems only to taunt me every time I look at my hot sauce shelves.... Item #3: Made some buffalo wings last night using predominantly Krakatoa in the sauce (had to cut it with some Tabasco) and ground pequins in the flour and seasonings. Very tasty. Quite hot. Am suffering slightly today, but well worth it. In heat we trust. Matt ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ T.
