Ambrosia

This was my grand mother’s when I was growing up in Louisiana there was not 
a Thanksgiving or Christmas that this was not on the table. Enjoy Harold

Southern version
Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 1/2 cups shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
¼ cups of chopped pecans
1 (8 ounce) can fruit cocktail, drained
1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
3 cups miniature marshmallows
1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained (optional)
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


Directions
1 In a large bowl, combine the whipped topping, coconut, chopped nuts, fruit 
cocktail, pineapple, mandarin oranges, marshmallows, cherries, nutmeg and 
cinnamon. Mix together well and refrigerate for 30 to 45 minutes.



This is a northern version that we got from my wife’s mom.
List of Ingredients



1 28oz. Can fruit cocktail
1 16oz. Can sliced pears
1 8oz. Can mandarin oranges
1 8oz. Can crushed pineapple
1 fresh apple
2 fresh navel oranges
1/2 lb. bag miniature marshmallows
1/2 c. shredded coconut, optional
2 8oz. Containers whipped cream topping
Recipe


Drain all liquid from canned fruit and put in a large bowl.
Peel apple, dice and add to bowl. Peel oranges; remove all
skin from each section. Add orange sections to bowl.
Add miniature marshmallows, shredded coconut and the
whipped cream topping; mix well.
Cover bowl and keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
