Only if you want to invoke the "ny" sound. For instance the spanish word
"cañon" is still pronounced "canyon." Likewise jalapeño" is pronounced
"halapenyo." Even in Spanish the spelling of Havana is not Havaña.

I''ll give you the upside down plant, but the chiles still do not look like
habaneros, they look almost like pale white stubby jalapeños... :-)
