Hi Allen, I could be wrong but I think there could be 2 explanations for this. Both have to do with the plant that grew the heatless Hab. First is conditions under which the Hab grew, daytime temps, watering, soil amendments, etc. Second is the plant itself as we've discussed that there are heatless strains being developed & your description that it had Hab flavor would lead me to believe this is the answer. Hope this helps, Paul ----- Original Message ----- From: "Allen Marshall" <AllenMrsh@netscape.net> Sent: Wednesday, 15 January, 2003 4:36 AM Subject: [CH] Dirty Little Faker Habs > So anyways, when I get them home, I cut off the calyx and a questionable spot on one and eat it. Nothing. It has the habanero flavor, but no heat whatsoever. I was crushed. I figured that that one had to be a bad pepper. The others couldn't be completely without heat. Fortunately, I was right about that. The rest are hot AND have hab flavor. > > Anyone ever experienced that with their own plants? I don't mean barely hot but absolutely no heat at all...
