>I bought 4 chilli plants from the West Dean Chilli Fiesta in August and was >led to believe that they would live through the winter, but have since been >informed that they are anual plants and die off every year. Chiles are perennials, provided that they don't freeze to death. Mine always weaken when brought inside over the winter. I've also noticed that plants raised in pots do much better over the winter than those that I try to save from the garden. I always trim my potted plants back when they start to lose folliage. Tom
