Found a great little Indonesian restaurant in Alexandria, Va. tonite!
                                                  Satay Sarinah is located
off of Van Dorn, and is easy to miss.
They do good by chileheads and will up the
heat quotient on request.
A best bet for dinner is the Rijsttafel, which is the Indonesian
version of Dim Sum or Tapas. There are over 15 dishes offered in small
sub-appetizer sized portions that give a great introduction to the cuisine.
Included are: Choice of soup... A semi Thai style chicken with
coconut milk and scallions with bean sprouts and tofu, or a wonton soup...
Choice of appetizer, Rezoles: fried breaded crepes with
marinated beef and veggies, Kroket: fried rolled mashed potatoes filled
with beef and veggies, Lumpia Goreng: Fried crispy dough filled with beef
and bamboo shoots Choice of Satay: Chicken, beef, lamb,
tofu or shrimp, served with spicy peanut sauce. Hot, spicy fried
shrimp. Hot spicy beef stew. Gado Gado, spicy
cabbage salad. Fried green beans. Shrimp chips.
Indonesian pickles Fried boiled egg in spicy coconut sauce

It was very tasty and they did not shy away from spicing it up!
