[CH] aphids and whitefly

I have aphids and white fly attacking my chiles and violets.  I have been
squeezing them with my fingers.  What can I use on the plants that is
non-toxic to the edible habs?  A white fly spray I used last year killed the
plants.  Haven't had any luck with insecticidal soap.  I am concerned that
the Jobe spikes with the insecticide in them could make my habs inedible.

All the plants I carefully rooted from Florida were killed by these beasts.
