Charleston Rice Wine
1 orange - sliced across the skin
1 lb seeded (muskat) raisins*
1 pkg dried yeast
3 lbs granulated sugar
1/2 lb raw rice
1 gallon tepid water
Put above ingredients in a stoneware crock. Cover lightly. Stir daily
with a wooden spoon for 3 weeks. Strain, filter and bottle.
this makes a somewhat sweet wine, so good for drinking as a dessert or just
beverage.
* - I always used the white raisins
