What "terrible musty dirt taste"? They are just less sweet and more green
tasting
before they are frosted on. Picking them earlier sounds like a good idea,
though,
as we may be able to get the same sweet taste that way. We eat them all
winter
here, as they bolt in the spring, but don't get mushy from being frozen.
