If it doesn't stop soon we are going to be cut off from the rest of the world again. Here in Lewiston there's a hillside giving way -- moving a foot an hour or so -- that has the Elks Lodge on top. I don't particularly care about the Elks Lodge but the slide is already blocking a highway. In fact, in every direction out of Lewiston there is tremendous slide danger. It's been raining here for days -- we had 1/2 a day yesterday without rain and kept wondering what was wrong. We in Lewiston are in better shape than a lot of places in the state. Last year Idaho had a very large number of slides -- some villages were cut off from the world for a couple of weeks -- that cost a heck of a lot of money to repair. I figure if this rain doesn't start soon we'll be looking at a tax increase just to repair that north-south wagon track they call a highway -- the only highway linking north and south Idaho. Liz
