Haven't seen one since the first of the year. Jim did say there were several
bears in the area while I was in CA in June. I saw a linx last month. It
crossed the road about 1/2 a mile from here. The deer and rabbit population
seem to be up this year. Must have been the good feed all summer last year
and two years of reasonably mild winters. I figure that's why the weasel
population is up too, more mice. Coyote's population seems to be down
though, maybe the cougars are eating them. Of course we do still have
three Anatolian puppies left so with 8 dogs not much is inclined to come
around here.
