Most of us around here with any years on us remember Hurricane Audrey in
1957 and the 500 plus people who died in that one. Doesn't take much to get
us moving out of the area. Folks in Cameron Parish are right on the coast
and the parish is mostly marsh. Some of them are coming out now just in
case. They've only got two ways out and both get covered with water
quickly. Don't see any real danger at the moment and we are certainly
hoping for rain. Really strange weather, Tropical Storm Charlie dumped lots
of rain from about 40 miles west of us all the way into Mexico. We didn't
get a drop here. People about 6 blocks north of us got a good rain
yesterday evening, not us. It thundered and lightninged but no rain. Glad
you folks missed the worse of Bonnie.
