Well, Margaret, you certainly did give us all a lecture on pure Nature in the raw! About as close as we get to see live things in the garden happens to be two outdoor-cats who shouldn't be here, and a zillion squirrels that insist upon making holes in the grass. Don't have grubs, but we sure have acorns! About 4 years ago I was given a wonderful gift of three 8-inch tall rhododendrons picked up by a member of the Rhodo Society just south of Washington, DC, somewheres. They are now 3 ft tall, and scheduled to be transplanted next spring into their permanent home. . . . Meanwhile, we had reached the very last splotch in the rear lawn which I had Roundup'd, and Jimmie had the Weed Whacker running to hit the long dead duff which was still clinging to the earth, so I could seed. Of course, he swung around and next thing I knew, I now have TWO 3 ft rhododendrons, and one 1-footer. No comment. But yes, that's why I don't want him to eat his honey dew melon with a knife. You never know....... Penny, NY _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
