I'm not sir, but I'm less busy than George at the moment.  A ristra is a
string of dried chile peppers.  Some I suspect are threaded with a needle,
but the traditional Mexican way of making ristras is by tying three stems
together, then in a short distance tying three more together so that they
overlap and comprise a long "bunch" of chiles.  Margaret
