I've seen George mention a couple times that he doesn't like cooked turnips. (I was sort of amused, as that is one of the very few foods I've heard my father say he doesn't like. In fact, I can't think of another.) I don't much like them cooked or raw ether, but I grew them this fall, since my FIL was offering me seeds. They did fairly well, so I tried cooking them, and actually liked them. Tonight I peeled and sliced them and cooked them in a little water with celery salt, black pepper, and a very small amount of margarine, just until tender. The other time was basically the same recipe but with a little bacon rather than margarine. I think it may make a difference that they are yellow turnips. They are yellow on the inside and turn green on the top. They seem much milder than the purple ones. David Smith
