Tarree, the heat wave is NOT sudden!  Yes, we've had days and days
of 95-100* weather, but all the shrubs get underground watered in a
drought. The sun is gone by 3:00 o'clock where the Starry Nights have
been growing for 10 years. 

I have two 2-y-o Starry Nights in another location. So far, they are
very happy.....

Biggest shock was the speed with which they dropped dead. If I had
known that they were in trouble, I could have made them some 
chicken soup, or SOMETHING..!!! 

Thank heavens, no gophers.
