When you push the can into the ground a couple of inches lack of
sunlight isn't a problem here.  In fact if plants are placed in a
lower light area you want to use new cans so the light that gets
in is reflected by the sides and the plant actually gets more
even light and doesn't seem to lean toward the light source as
much.
