Well, I wasn't either, but we have an Indian restaurant that serves food
buffet style for lunch, and in trying different dishes ran into some
irresistably delicious okra. I can't find the recipe right now to even tell
you what it was called, but it was just great. Friends went back for
seconds. I also love zingy hot pickled okra. It's crisp rather than slimy.
