Sounds like squirrels to me.  Our problems with squirrels eating fruit and
corn seemed less last year, I think due to our neighbors' big loud dog.  The
dog likes to run along the fence between our garden and their yard, and
bark.  I found it annoying at first, but I've come to appreciate it.
