It flowers like a mint also, but the roots = make these bulbous thingies that break off when weeding. The bulbets = turn into new plants quickly as they continue to spread. The bulbets do = not die when the plant is sprayed with roundup (tm) the plant does then = the bulbet sends up another plant. I have seen the bulbets 3 inches = long and an inch thick on well established plants. The second one is much like dollarweed, but the leaves are much finer = and smaller. It makes a nice dense carpet of green, but will choke out = St. Augustine grass. I have areas that are yards wide covered with this = stuff. The root system is not very deep. It lays right under the mulch = or just below the surface of the soil. It does make a good ground cover = as long as the plants it surrounds are well established. I will often = leave it grow across a bed unless new seeds or young plants are being = set out. =20 ------=_NextPart_000_000D_01C09F37.937AF360 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
