Good morning, Penny,
Shade cloth is a sort of plastic mesh that is both light weight and
flexible, usually black, that can be spanned over poles or attached to
poles, fences or the like, to enable some sun to get through, but not
all of it; and to allow the free passage of air, so as to inhibit the
growth of fungi or other nasties. I will go to OSH today to see who
makes it.
