Hello, again, Mary-Anne, Dont' talk to me about squirrels! Our Fuyu persimmon is netted so securely that I cannot get my hand into it from any direction....yet we have lost two fruits to marauding squirrels this week! Persimmons are an alternate-year-bearing tree, so we are all the more vexed. Congratulations on your avocado! Ron
