Lucinda, one of the 9 huge dahlias which was a new tuber this year has dropped dead. There's nothing left of it to salvage. We are now into 7 consecutive days of rain, after a summer of drought. It will be interesting to see if all this extra water rejuvenates the dahlias. If it does, then I shall have to reorganize the drip system -- of course, if we have a wet summer in the future, I would have to rebuild the watering grid all over again! [We did have 40 consecutive days of rain in all of New England when I was 12-y-o -- it drove us batty!
