Dan, I'm growing old.

I meant to call the dahlia problem a fungus.

These dahlias have never needed a preventive spray before
this summer. It looks as if i will have to consider this
seriously, for next summer.

I have not seen signs of fungus -- the leaves quickly turn brown,
get very dry, and cling to the stalks. AMOF, I have had the same
problem for several years with my clematis -- starting from the ground,
the leaves quickly turn brown, get very dry, and cling to the vines.
I was told that it is an airborne virus, and cannot be stopped....
The tops of the vines still are green and producing flowers, just
like the dahlias .....
