Rosemary, there are sugar substitutes available. you need to watch carbs
very closely. DH is diabetic, and found Healthy Choice's fat-free,
sugar-free, mint chocolate chip ice cream is very, very good. He's having
trouble finding it, though. I think you can google for sugar-free
recipes. Someone else may be better informed about that than I. Margaret L
