Hi Elizabeth, We don't have frost heave here. <VBG> I worked with metal edging when I worked in landscaping in new installations. It goes in easy enough and is a lot more durable than plastic edging. You need to install it before the brickwork is done, so the measurements are very important. The height will be just below the brickwork, so mowing isn't a problem. Using it as a border between lawn and flower beds would be a whole other story. I don't have any experience with that.
