Hello, friends,
 
Just catching up a bit....Bulbing fennel grows wild in these parts, and comes back year after year. One of the prime spots to see this edible is any freeway offramp here in the San Fernando Valley, where it flourished with wild abandon, without any sort of care, except for an occasional irrigation spritz.
