Pete, you're right....the ads and the packaging do look like snake oil. But the stuff is good. I use it when I pot up tomato seedlings from seed flats into individual 4" pots. I grow o.p./heirloom tomatoes for myself and for specialty nurseries and the Superthrive does seem to help the plants withstand the stress of "careless care" they often receive at the nursery.
