Smokers aren't the only vector transmitting TMV from tobacco. And it isn't the smoke. It's the unburned tobacco and when TMV was more prevalent and untreated at the source, it was the hands which had handled the tobacco. I certainly wouldn't use a tobacco tea as an insecticide. No heat involved.
