If you're in Minnesota "full sun" is different than it is in Mississippi, for example! In hot climates, tomatoes appreciate some shade in the afternoon. Especially if they are in containers. It's not bad for your plants to be so tall....it's their nature to grow that tall. As long as they aren't spindly from lack of light (and I don't think so, since you've said they are producing lots of fruit), you can rest easy I would think. Catharine/Atlanta, zone 7b
