[gardeners] What was the best and worse?

I know we have a lot of folks subscribed that haven't posted, so
I'll try and start something here.
What was the best and worst thing about your garden this year?
My best thing, other than the chile patch, was the fence and
extention. No deer in the garden this year, They did eat my
neighbors stuff, but never jumped over to mine.
Another best thing was adding a small pond to my waterfall.
The worst thing was growing some tomatoes by letting them sprawl
on straw mulch. Too many rotted and you had one heck of a time
walking in there to pick the good ones. I will stake all tomatoes
from now on. The staked ones did much better.
Another worst thing was that my fish died.
