Hi All,

I planted an autumn clematis last summer, and didn't get a bloom last year.
This year it's about 7' tall and the top 2' is loaded with white blooms,
but they're tiny! Not even an inch across. I did minimal watering this
year, but the plant never wilted. About 4 - 6 weeks ago many of the lower
leaves did turn yellow and die. I added peat and manure to the hole when I
planted, but no fertilizer this year. The plant was one of those boxes
they sell at walmart - Better Home & Garden brand, maybe. Any ideas on
anything I did wrong? Or does this type of clematis just have smaller
blooms? Thanks!
