Speaking of the "Texas Rat" (a mighty high hairdo -- shellac & all) Margaret wrote: >Might rid the property of armadilloes, scalawags and > cockroaches. If'n you can guarantee its ability to expel armadillo, scalawags, carpetbaggers and other undesirables imported by the Northeniers, I'll let my hair grow, pile it as high as an elephant's eye, and convince my neighbors (female) to do the same. On the other hand, cockroaches are all gone from this territory; fireants did 'em in. If'n you can guarantee the Texas Rat will do away with fireants, all the menfolk will wear a Texas Rat, too. Even the bald ones. Maybe that is the trouble down in Texas -- drought, armadillo, scalawags, carpetbaggers AND fireants. When the Texas Rat went out of style ten or twelve years ago, something essentially Texian left too. You may be on to something big here Margaret. Pat
