Oooh, George -- I forgot to tell you:  contrary to your prediction,
Jimmie has managed to perfect the technique of shoveling water
with a snow shovel .....   All we needed was a workshop at flood stage,
and a construction hole in the floor intended for flood rescue when built
50 years ago.  

We no longer mop, using all our bath and beech towels and an old
fashioned tub wringer. Jimmie now shovels..!
